Wedding Belles

I get a ton of 'Holly in Heels, I need your advice!' emails--and it's really quite flattering! Keep 'em coming! I'll be the first to admit that I love shopping, and when I'm shopping for someone else (which doesn't require me to spend money for once!) I'm even more elated to offer my shoe-expertise! Most of the inquiries I receive are damsels in distress over none other than wedding shoes. Whether it's a mother-of-the-bride or a pretty little bridesmaid, or even just a regular ol' guest, everyone needs a bit of shoe guidance sometimes (lots of other things to think about when you're in a wedding after all!). With wedding season glaring upon us, it's time to toss out those old satiny b-maid habits and usher in some style to that wedded wardrobe. I had THEE hardest time narrowing it down to just a few lovely wedding shoe-picks, but I think you'll be quite happy with the selection--hey, it just might score ya a post-ceremony romance, who knows!
. . .

I was 100% delighted when I came across these simple but elegant Kenneth Cole Reaction 'Know Way' sandals! One fine t-strap leading up to layered straps around the ankle puts a fun spin on a classic bridesmaid shoe (at an easy $69 cost too!).
These BCBGMAXAZRIA 'Mirna' heels might cost ya more than the wedding gift you were planning on getting the bride & groom...but hey, you'll wear them more than once guaranteed (not like that bridesmaid dress guarantee every bride gives..."you'll wear this again, right?!"). Metallic & braided, these heels will give a special kick to any wedding outfit!

Similar in style the BP. Platinum 'Jet' Pump and the Enzo Angiolini 'Merryann' Pump are sparkled to perfection! Both are a great height for a long wedding night of dancing, toasting and celebrating (the Enzo's get great reviews too!). They're both so so close to these sparkly pumps I also reviewed a few months back, l-o-v-e.
Ooo, and check out these Jessica Bennett 'Marek' Sandals: strappy, retro-esque 3-inch heels that come in a handful of fantastic colors that are wedding-ready (I dig the Bronze).
And if it's comfort you're after, you'll arrive at the right place when you click on these shnazzy Naturalizer 'Princeton' T-strap Sandals that are perfect for afternoon or evening wedding gatherings. A low-key 2 1/4" heel is just your size when the partying gets tough (and the tough get partying!).
Ok ok ok, last one, I promise (unless you want me to keep going, 'cause I will!). Just in case you wanna mix it up with the wedding shoes, and be a bit more daring than normal wedding-wear protocol, make a purchase on these MAXSTUDIO 'Samosa' Sandals! Hurry, they're 50% off right now at Nordstrom.com and are ready to be tied around your gorgeous little ankles and paired up with something fancy!
Wow, gorgeous girl, you are ready to be one spicy little wedding belle!

  1. Thank you thank you thank you!
I absolutely cannot get those BCBG's out of my head. And I am planning on wearing them in TWO of the FIVE weddings that I am in this summer, so might be worth the investment.
    Happy wedding season!

Shoe closet love.

I will be the first to stand up and admit that I have a fabulous husband. Not only is he smart, funny, creative and patient, but he's pretty darned hot too! I still consider us newlyweds (and probably will for quite some time), because we're always doing thoroughly silly stuff for one another--keepin' things fresh, fun and surprising, ya know? Here's one of my fave pics of us, taken a few years ago during our engagement photoshoot. Good times. That being said, I was still simply breath-taken when I came home from a way-too-long day of work and found that my sweet beau had used his furlough day (yes, it's not just a vicious rumor that we have those all over the place in the state of CA) to transform our hall coat closet into none other than a shoe closet . You heard me right... shoe closet = every girl's dream, ya? We don't really use our hall coat closet anyway, living in such a warm southern California city, so I was thrilled to actually put this space to

Long time, no type.

You guys. Has it seriously been a full YEAR since I've typed up a blog post on here? That is both depressing and encouraging. Depressing--because I feel like I have forgotten about my first "child" my Holly in Heels blog. Encouraging--because it means that I have been suuuper busy with other fun and creative projects, like my continued PR and media copywriting, contributions to Coyote + Oak magazine out of San Luis Obispo, as well as Locale Magazine 's newest San Francisco addition. I have to admit that while these other (paying) jobs keep me busy and on my toes, I do stop and think about my former life as a fashion and lifestyle blogger, and how I miss the creative outlet. To be able to write about whatever topic I choose is certainly a gift. Writing is also therapeutic for me--this blog is like a friend. Like the kind you can call up anytime, talk about the deep stuff and then mention this new conditioner you tried...and then switch back to the meaning of lif

Pour la GIVEAWAY!

I'm a sucker for free stuff. Who isn't? Especially when it's SHOES. Anyone with me?...ya, pretty sure ya are. Well, I'm jumpin' for joy as I write this post, because Miss Holly in Heels herself has been asked to partner up with a super-fabulous shoe company called Pour La Victoire . Maybe you've heard of 'em? If you haven't heard of the lovely PLV's then listen up--because this shoe co. is one hot commodity! You can find Pour La Victoire's at top-notch retailers like Piperlime , Nordies , Zappos , Bloomies and Saks , and known for their chic and classic style in high-high-heel makin' and designin'. Pour La Victoire's 'victorious' fashions are not only known as the “next big thing” but have also skyrocketed in popularity among socialites, and celebs. High-fashion fans like Anne Hathaway, Rachel Weisz and Alexa Chung have made public appearances sporting their fave PLV heels, boots and sandals. I'm talking $100+ shoes an
