Sex and the City for your feet: SJP COLLECTION TO LAUNCH EXCLUSIVELY WITH NORDSTROM!

Get your wallets ready, and your credit cards primed - the SJP Collection by Sarah Jessica Parker is a new collection of shoes, launching exclusively at Nordstrom stores and Nordstrom.com on February 28 ! Eek! With an exclusive reflection of Miss Parker's personal style, this Italian-crafted line of shoes grabs styles that you'll want to get your hands on ASAP this season. Take a look at the rich colors of the line - coral, mint, teal and pink, to classic colors including purple, red and navy - those which Sarah Jessica has often said are "the new neutral." I love love love that there is a story behind each name of a pair of SJP shoes. You'll of course find the “Carrie”, and even the “Maud”, named after legendary designer Maud Frizon. And if you're worried about heel heights, fret no further - the collection of twenty-five shoes fits the shoe prefs of every lady, at every age. The price point is something to adore, too, ranging from $195 to just under $500...

Block party.

This spring I'm loving the sandals that are splashing the scene. The cage sandal with straps galore, the classic pointed toe flat that seems to be always on-trend, and last but not least...my new fave: the block heel. I think it's really the best of both the wedge and the high heel world - you get the leg-lengthening heigh of a heel, with all of the comfort of a wedge. It's clearly a block party in my closet. Perf! And Dolce Vita has designed this oh-so affordable block heel sandal called the ' FOXIE ' - with a fab 2 1/2" heel, all leather lining and outsole, and an adorable black heel zip-up and buckle detail. Two colors that will go with every denim legging and pencil skirt, even with your favorite springtime dress - you may have to get them both (wink wink!).  Super duper cute, and a MUST this season! Enjoy the block heel and grab this style while it's h-o-t. xoxo, holly in heels

A MUST: the basic suede pump.

Every girl needs a good, basic suede pump. It's sorta in the rule book of shoe-wearers (I swear it is!). So when I come across a fantastical, classic and comfy suede pump, it's also in the rule book to share the news! These pointed toe, women's sueded pumps from Old Navy are under $30 (oh yeah!), and the ultimate must-have. A lovely 3-inch heel props up a sueded upper heel, with a cushy rubber sole. The sole isn't all that's cushy, though - these pumps flaunt a cushioned footbed that make all-day-heel-wearing a breeze! Perfect to throw on your feetsies with a simple torn jeans + white tee casual day...or add a dash of color to your little pencil skirt + collared shirt outfit for work. Style your suede this season, dress it up or down, and get some basic suede pumps in that wardrobe, why don't ya! Your outfit will be happy you did. xoxo, holly in heels

Introducing Paul Andrew.

There's something amazing about finding a new designer who you've never heard of, never seen before, that is behind a shoe that you just can't keep your mind off of. Something of an adrenaline rush is what happens to me - I know it sounds silly, but honestly, when I find a new designer that I love, my immediate thought is: I must blog about this . See, one of the many perks of being a fashion blogger. At any rate, this week's adrenaline rush is brought to you by Paul Andrew. This British designer lit up the scene on planet shoe fashion with his Spring 2013 line. Andrew's signature style of edgy lines, dainty buckles, pointed and peep-toes has brought buyers to their knees begging for more. See why? Check out a few of my faves , which can be found at Nordstrom and Nordstrom.com  (and hopefully on my feet someday soon!)... 'Zenadia' Stripe Silk Pointy Toe Pump ...oooo la la, chic! And the insane snakeskin on this bright yellow 'Europeaus' s...

Back in time for Fashion Week!

Soooo, excuse my absence for the entire stinking month of August , but I swear I have a good excuse. She goes by the name of Hazel! That's right, this fashion blogger became a mama of the world's cutest future fasthionista, on August 2. She doesn't quite fit into any of the kicks in her 40+ pair shoe collection yet (gasp!), but soon...very soon. But I'm back at it right in time for my favorite time of the year (that, and Thanksgiving, ok?): Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week ! It's that fall fashion season, and the only time I wish I lived in NYC. Spring 2014 styles hit the runways, and the stars come out to play dress-up. As I've combed the @mbfashionweek Instagram , I've seen vibrant spring colors of poppy and turquoise, cool cremes and neutrals, stripes and neons, and of course some really amazing shoes . Check out some of the beeeeautiful images thus far!: Click here to watch the runway shows of New York Fashion Week LIVE - right from the comf...

Cyber Monday is nigh!

During the month of November you can always find me doing 2 things: Counting down the days until my family's Thanksgiving feast...and counting down the days until shopping deals begin! My shopper-girl's heart is beyond excited for Cyber Monday (the perfect way for me to stay in my turkey coma and still shop!). Yep, the Monday after Thanksgiving Day in the United States is when the droves skip the long lines, and go to their keyboards for the best in online deal hunting. Cyber Monday has quickly become the biggest online shopping days of the year--and my fashionista eye is focused especially on the great shoe deals spotted for Cyber Monday at Macy's ! Check it: Heels for dayyyyys, I'm finding all kindsa deals on pumps and peep toes for work and weekend, holiday parties, and nights out on the town! I may or may not be obsessing over these glam pumps by Nine West , that come in an array of colors--I can see myself dancing the night away at that upcoming New Year's pa...

A good pop o' color

Everyone needs a good pop o' color every now and again. As the season changes and the clouds roll in (which I love, don't get me wrong!), I can't help but need a dash of bright in my wardrobe each day. And of course, in true Holly in Heels fashion, I like to say it with shoes. After a fab tip from my friend over on the Glitter & Grace blog, I made my newest colorful shoe purchase from Forever 21 . These gorgeous cone heel pumps , in a lovely coral or teal, were such a steal, and the perfect addition to my shoe closet wardrobe! In this case, I opted for the teal color (although I coulda purchased both for this crazy-good price!) and they of course turned out to be the perfect color kick to my week. Paired with a black pencil skirt + a black and white striped sweater, I felt like I had a lil' extra swing in my step! Nothing like a good heel to brighten my day. What do you do to add a pop of color in your life? xoxo, holly in heels

A cure for the Mondays.

Mondays are hard for me. It's always like I could use just one more day to sleep in and stay in my pajamas until noon, before throwing on a baseball cap and heading to run my errands. So after a busy weekend and a busy Monday, there's nothing I'd rather come home to than a big, shoe-box-shaped cardboard box carefully placed on my doormat. It's like the box is welcoming me home. And when that oversized box has an adorable pair of shoes (that I may or may not have forgot I ordered) in it...Ooooo, watch out! A sure cure for a case of the Mondays. These lovelies awaited me today when I pulled up in my driveway. A lovely gold cap-toe pair of pumps from Tobi , my new fave online store. Everyday, Tobi tempts me with their 30% off new arrivals and adorable discount designer threads. I looooove this store, and you will too! Join now and share the news! ...And may you always have a cure for the Mondays. xoxo, holly in heels

I see art.

Sometimes when I look at shoes I don't see fashion, I see art . I see the creativity, the imagination that went into designing that shoe. I wonder what the story behind that shoe was, what the designer was thinking or feeling or wanting to happen to that shoe at the time of its inception. And the Fall Collection from Manolo Blahnik has got me thinking just that--I love pretty much each and every piece they have on pre-order for the months ahead. Here, I see art in it's truest form: What do you see?--art, fashion, just another designer shoe? xoxo, holly in heels

Black + White + Audrey all over

There's something very classic about black & white. It's been a style staple that's outlasted the decades, that's for sure. The combo of these non-colors always reminds me of Audrey Hepburn--the classic, timeless fashion that still appears on the runways of today.   So this season, I have my sights set on black & white patterns on kicks all around town. These calf hair loafers from GAP are my latest obsession--so polka dotted and good (and under $50!)! I also be diggin' these Kimchi Blue brand canvas print pumps from Urban Outfitters--they seem to be just the right height and just the right stripe. And you score big, at just under $50 as well!  This season, bring out your inner-Audrey and class up that outfit with some black & white goodness! So chic. xoxo, holly in heels

Smart women, strong heels!

Just lovin' the new Stuart Weitzman campaign that landed in my inbox today--you said it, and you said it well, Stu--smart women, strong heels! Check out this mix of bold and brave heels from Stuart Weitzman from his fall, on-trend collection. Perfect for work days and weekends, all of these heels have that thick n' chunky heel that is SOooo Fall 2011--even bringing in that of-the-moment look of 70's chic. Go ahead, browse the strong heel collection and tell me--which style is YOUR fave? xoxo, holly in heels

Weekend edition

Hello my patient readers! You'll have to forgive me (yep, you don't have a choice) but this week has been a monster of a week for me. Lots of fun stuff on my calendar, but certainly made for a few late nights! Ahhh, the life of a shoe blogger, always full of shopping + events + more shopping. One of the fab events I found myself at this week was the Locale Magazine release party. Such a fun bash down at a waterfront resort in breezy Huntington Beach, California--I was glad to take my beau with me and make a Holly in Heels appearance! If you've paid close attention, this is the "living local" lifestyle mag that I write for--my quarterly feature is called Locale Looks , describing all of the best local finds in eating, shopping and hittin' the town! If you're an Orange County cat, make sure you pick up your free copy of Locale Magazine in & around the best of the best OC shops. If you're an outta towner, Locale Mag still has love for ya with this d...

Rachel Zoe: i heart u!

Why do I have to love Ms. Rachel Zoe so much? Ya think it's her consistently bright red lips, or her oversized fur coats, or maybe sassy, semi-stressed out attitude that makes her so endearing? Not sure, but whatever it is, sista's got STYLE. Check out her latest picks off Piperlime.com & let me count the ways that I adore her: photo courtesy of Piperlime.com 1) Elizabeth and James 'Codi' Jacket 2) J Brand Denim Leggings 3) Trina Turk Disco Ball skirt 4) Elizabeth and James 'Lyla' 5) Steve Madden 'Scandall' 6) Joie 'Higher and Higher' 7) Boutique 9 'Illy' 8) Calvin Klein 'Sally' Ahhhh...the list could go on and on! Enjoy, ladies! xoxo, holly in heels P.S. Just a few more days til my high heel giveaway is up ! Get it while it's hot!

A Fresh Start

Ok, so confession time (do I do this often on here? I think so): I'm .2 seconds away from purchasing these shoes for myself. I've actually be reeeeeally good lately--haven't had too many splurges since I got so many good prezzies for Christmas. But then good ol' Piperlime.com had to send me an email that said "Hey Holly! We're having a super-sweet Lime Tag Sale and it's got your name on it!" (in that irresistible voice they do...yeah, picture it), and it was all over. And ironically enough, the chic shoe I'm talkin' about is Seychelles 'Fresh Start' pump . This peep-toe'r has a girlish charm to it, but also a rough & tumble vibe with that ankle strap detail. A modest 3" heel and 100% leather even sweeten the deal that is now only 49 buck-a-roos! Hmmm, don't be too surprised if you find that these beauties have wound up in my shoe closet ! Are they not adorable?! Well, Happy Friday, everyone! You made it. Let the week...

Times are a changin'

Isn't it funny how things change over time? I guess this new year of 2011 already has me thinkin' about time, and change, and seasons (maybe the rainy weather outside is doin' that to me too!). Well, times must be a-changin' because the two things at the TOP of my wishlist this January are two things I woulda never suspected to be amongst my favorites at this time last year! Wonderin' what those two things are? Welp, here ya go... Number 1: slingbacks. Yes yes, I'll be the first to admit that I sorta thought most slingbacks were a thing of the past--like Milli Vanilli or Reebok Hi-Tops (yep, they STILL sell those!). But these Sam Edelman 'Ionia' slingbacks have thoroughly changed my mind! These classics are styled and shaped such that they will never be a thing of the past. With a shorty 1" heel, and a sweet lil' buckle, these stunning shoes are sure show-stoppers, finished off with Sam's signature gold emblem (cute cute!). And, number ...

Holly meets Polly

Occasionally, as I peruse the web for fashionable finds, I stumble upon some pretty fabulous online boutiques. I love it when I find a super-chic online spot that has a good SALE too--who can pass up a sale when it includes delivery right to your very own doorstep?! I love. Well, last week my style-scouting fingers came across this virtual boutique that's filled to the brim with good stuff: Plum for Polly . I love that their motto is "all your favorite things in one place"--my kinda place! Plum for Polly has not only has tons of killer threads from fave brands like Alternative Apparel , and Free People , but some pretty sweet shoes too! Their Jeffrey Campbell shoes were stealin' my heart, especially...check 'em out: Even though summer's almost over (tear tear), I cannot help but still droooool over neutral wedges and colorful prints! Hence, my obsession over these Jeffrey Campbell ' Solares ' canvas wedges. They are beyond stunning (especially with c...
