Cyber Monday. Get that stuff.

Cyber Monday! The day when we are all glued to our phones and laptops, listening to that joyous "ding" every 10 seconds when a new email offer comes through. Let's face it, it drives us mad, but we love it. Right? This year, the deals seem undeniable and I am snagging every one that my bank account will possibly allow! From gifts for friends, gifts for kiddos, holiday party-wear, and even some adorable everyday shoes, here are some faves from today's Cyber spectacular sales: It's hard to find a good Anthro sale on regular priced items. I managed to snag this long leopard blazer during the 30% off Black Friday sale, but if you haven't snatched up an Anthro item (tons of great gifts, by the way!), now is your chance. The site is 20% off for Cyber Monday, with free shipping on orders over $100. Doooo iiiiit. Everyday sneakers that are stylish and femme make the perfect gift for yourself or your BFF. If you're a mama on the go like me, then a solid...

Moving on.

Well folks, I've done it. As of last week my family of 3 and I picked up and moved to a whole new city, a whole new part of California. Aside from going from apartment to apartment, post-college, I haven't really done a big move. See, the house we said goodbye to was the home of A LOT of things: where my husband proposed to me, where we came home as Mr. & Mrs., where we had endless parties and family dinners (including an epic 30th birthday, where the living room was cleared out to make room for a live band!), and where we brought our newborn babe home. Not to mention, it was also the home of my shoe closet ! Sigh! It's a big change, and today has honestly got me feeling a bit homesick, so I decided to think about that AMAZING things that my new city has to offer... One of those things is boot weather ! For the first time in a long time, I'll be able to dwell in my yummy leather boots for longer than a week! Hoooooray! This fall, there are so many adorable short ...

This summer.

Ok sweet blogosphere friends--welcome to the final few days of summer. I simply cannot believe it. As much as I'm an "autumn" spirit at heart, I have loved this last June, July, and August which have been filled with so many memorable adventures, highs, lows, loves, heartbreaks, and of course...lots and lots of summer shoes! As you'll be able to tell from the amount of blogging I have not done, it's been a very good summer! I'd say one of the BIGGEST highlights of the hot, hot, heat this summertime was my adventure to Las Vegas! Exactly 1 week before my little baby Hazel's 1st birthday, I hopped a plane and met my beloved cousin in Sin City. Not only was it one of the most relaxing vacations I've had, but it was the most money I've ever spent in one weekend - ha! I'm still mayyy-jorly loving my husband for not disowning me after he saw the receipts ( more on that story later! ). During my fab Vegas adventure, I had a few go-to shoes that I...

I want this dress.

As I enter my mid-thirties, the summers of wedding after wedding seem to be simmering down. It's really a darned shame too - not only do I LOVE weddings...the decor, dresses, cocktails and dancing 'til my feet hurt...but I love to go SHOPPING for a solid wedding guest dress. With a few weddings on the calendar this summer (YOW!), it's high time I break out my shopping shoes, and find a good guest dress. #1 on my list? This Long Sleeve Crepe Shift Dress by Wayf . With an entire collection of perfectly patterned and cut dresses at Nordstrom (also my go-to for wedding wear, please note!), this classic floral pattern tops the list. I'm also adoring this great polka dot pick by Wayf - great shape and style, and perfect with a bright heel or sandal.  And option number 3, is this perfectly pink little number, also from Wayf . At $59, this beauty can easily be dressed up with a chunky statement necklace, and a killer pair of black leather pumps. I'll take t...

Woven, natural, and caged.

This Thursday is SPRING! Can you even believe it? Ok ok, if you're currently reading this from the East Coast (book a flight to Southern California), I'm sure it's a little harder to believe, but it's true! And not only does the change in season mean longer days and warmer nights are ahead - it means NEW SHOES! Of course. And the #1 trend for sandals this season, think: woven, natural, and caged. Here are a few picks I currently can't resist... The Sam Edelman 'Beck' sandal - inspired by the classic gladiator, with a dash of hippie-chic sophistication. I adore the smooth leather straps, making this caged-up sandal something you'll want to stay in all summer long! A Nordstrom exclusive ( I love those, you see !), DV by Dolce Vita 'Villa' sandal has got to be the sandal of the summer. There's something child-like about this design, something simple and easy about how you can wear it. In 5 amazing colors, to go with 5 different br...

Introducing Paul Andrew.

There's something amazing about finding a new designer who you've never heard of, never seen before, that is behind a shoe that you just can't keep your mind off of. Something of an adrenaline rush is what happens to me - I know it sounds silly, but honestly, when I find a new designer that I love, my immediate thought is: I must blog about this . See, one of the many perks of being a fashion blogger. At any rate, this week's adrenaline rush is brought to you by Paul Andrew. This British designer lit up the scene on planet shoe fashion with his Spring 2013 line. Andrew's signature style of edgy lines, dainty buckles, pointed and peep-toes has brought buyers to their knees begging for more. See why? Check out a few of my faves , which can be found at Nordstrom and Nordstrom.com  (and hopefully on my feet someday soon!)... 'Zenadia' Stripe Silk Pointy Toe Pump ...oooo la la, chic! And the insane snakeskin on this bright yellow 'Europeaus' s...

Shoe in Review: the best shoes of 2013!

It's 2014, y'all! I cannot believe it. Ok, I kinda can, it was Thanksgiving, then Christmas, then time for a champagne toast, and we did it all in style, so it is about time we see a new year in front of us, frankly. But when I look back on all of the good style and glamorous shoes that have come across my fashion-loving eyes this year, I feel quite compelled to take a long hard look at the best shoes of 2013! Let's check it... THE WEDGE SNEAKS. About this time last year, we were looking at the dawn of wedge sneakers ! A trend I was unsure about, I will admit - but it did make the magazines and the wardrobes of some stylish celebs, I will say. Some metallics, some bold colors, the sky was the limit! FLATS IT. As I was prepping for spring (and a baby growing in my tummy!), I had my eye on flats. Honestly, 2013 could have been the YEAR for flats - so many brands and trends were screaming flat nation - adorable polka dot flats, animal prints and patents and suedes l...

Batty for boots.

One of the (few) tragic things about living in California is that you don't get much cold weather. Especially here in Southern California, I often find myself gleefully grabbing for my cozy scarf and stylish boots as soon as the temperature hits 70 degrees! But that doesn't prevent me from going batty for boots. Oh no no, you see, I looooove boots, especially suede boots, that hit the ankle at that perfect spot. At my last trip to Nordies, I was tempted by these BP. 'Trolley' Ankle Boots in Navy (also pictured below in Burgundy Suede). At an awesome price of $99, these may just be the only boots you need for the entire season. The block heel measuring at 3" is just right, and the brass side zipper is that adorable added accent of style. Enjoy this amazing fall weather, my friends, and get out to enjoy the fall breeze in some stylish boots! xoxo, holly in heels

GUEST POST: Brown is the New Black

A little guest post love + a male fashion perspective from my new blogger friend, Scott Wicken of  sigtweedandcorduroy.com ! Enjoy: *** While it certainly is never prudent to go against a Sicilian when death is on the line, it is imperative to listen to an Italian when it comes to things style-related.   To wit, some excellent advice from designer Domenicio Vacca on the merits of the brown shoe: "Many Americans have this idea that if you put on a dress shoe, it has to be black. But Italians—and I myself, especially—very rarely wear black shoes, except for very formal occasions like weddings and funerals. I’m almost always in brown shoes, because they just work with everything.  The beauty of brown shoes is that all the different shades let you communicate something about your personality—you tell the world you have a sense of play and character just by putting something on your feet." I, too, am a firm believer that black shoes should only be reserved for t...

Happy Friday to ME.

On this sunny Friday, this shoe blogger and daytime marketing girl, could not figure out what to do for lunch--ever have a day like that? It's a nice day outside, but your tummy isn't quite hungry and you can't think of a place to park it and lunch for an hour? Well today was that day for me. It was Friday so I felt obligated to at least take a lunch--so where did I end up?: Nordstrom. Dear Nordstrom, you are my favorite. You have everything I need: lots of clothes, comfy couches for when my feet get tired, pretty make-up on the 1st floor immediately when I walk in, and oh yes... shoes! So happy Friday to me!--a great lunch break at Nordies and found these Julianne Hough for Sole Society 'Addy' flats in happy yellow + nude patent: They are GORGEOUS on my feet, if I do say so myself, a polished look for any outfit this spring. So happy Friday to you...and happy Friday to ME! Shoe shoppin'...there's nothin' like it. xoxo, holly in heel...
