With a Bow On Top!

There's something special about opening up my email and finding my weekly 'sale alerts' from Shop It To Me! It sorta makes the day go by faster if I periodically get to look at pretty things that belong in my closet (that are actually affordable too!). Well, this weekend there were a few special items that popped up and grabbed my attention. Usually cutesy-cutesy isn't my style, but I couldn't resist these sweet items, with a bow on top!

Urban Outfitters allllways has jewelry & accessories that I want--how do they do it?! Playful & interesting pieces that are just so simple, but really make a statement. And that's right, this UO Pearl Bow necklace fits the bill perfectly. A darling addition to any sweet & stylish outfit (a mere $13 bux too!).

And ohhhh Miss Betsey J, you make me blush bright red with these patent, polka-dotted pumps! Betsey Johnson's 'Molly' platform sandals are the perfect daytime heels for quick trips to the mall, those yummy mimosa-sippin' parties that await you this summer, or even spicing up the fashion quota in your workplace. Thank you,, for this happy sale price too! try on something cutesy-sweet & bow'd up today! I dare ya.

P.S. Check out my newest guest blog feature on Kindred - a UK based shoe retailer, started up by two young gals who are passionate about the shoe industry, and most importantly listening to what women want!

  1. Love bows! I was eyeing an inexpensive pair of F21 flats with a cute bow on the front, might have to buy now...

  2. I adore those shoes - so fun and such a great price! I'm a complete sucker for bows... probably half my shoes have them!

  3. I do love a pretty bow on anything! And I totally agree; Urban makes the most adorable accessories!

Shoe closet love.

I will be the first to stand up and admit that I have a fabulous husband. Not only is he smart, funny, creative and patient, but he's pretty darned hot too! I still consider us newlyweds (and probably will for quite some time), because we're always doing thoroughly silly stuff for one another--keepin' things fresh, fun and surprising, ya know? Here's one of my fave pics of us, taken a few years ago during our engagement photoshoot. Good times. That being said, I was still simply breath-taken when I came home from a way-too-long day of work and found that my sweet beau had used his furlough day (yes, it's not just a vicious rumor that we have those all over the place in the state of CA) to transform our hall coat closet into none other than a shoe closet . You heard me right... shoe closet = every girl's dream, ya? We don't really use our hall coat closet anyway, living in such a warm southern California city, so I was thrilled to actually put this space t

Long time, no type.

You guys. Has it seriously been a full YEAR since I've typed up a blog post on here? That is both depressing and encouraging. Depressing--because I feel like I have forgotten about my first "child" my Holly in Heels blog. Encouraging--because it means that I have been suuuper busy with other fun and creative projects, like my continued PR and media copywriting, contributions to Coyote + Oak magazine out of San Luis Obispo, as well as Locale Magazine 's newest San Francisco addition. I have to admit that while these other (paying) jobs keep me busy and on my toes, I do stop and think about my former life as a fashion and lifestyle blogger, and how I miss the creative outlet. To be able to write about whatever topic I choose is certainly a gift. Writing is also therapeutic for me--this blog is like a friend. Like the kind you can call up anytime, talk about the deep stuff and then mention this new conditioner you tried...and then switch back to the meaning of lif

5 Creative Ways to Store and Display your Fabulous Shoes.

Before we begin...I need to ask for your forgiveness. I haven't blogged  since May . Ahhhh! Shame on me, I know. But before you grab your voodoo doll and punish me for the lack of shoe inspiration I've been sending your way, please be proud of my for massively growing my freelance writing business, tackling some public relations work, and stepping up  my Instagram pop-up shop . It's been fun, but the blog has been lacking. Luckily, I got guest blogger, Kelsey, to help me out this week with a fun story about how to creatively store and display your shoes (and keep you looking stylish, too!). Read on. . . . Shoes can pose a serious storage problem, even in spacious closets. The average American owns 19 pairs of shoes , while most shoe lovers are guilty of hoarding many more than that. This can too easily cause clutter and set us back 5 or 10 minutes during our morning routines. If you need shoe organization ideas to get a wrangle on your repertoire, Modernize has sever
