I Dare You.

Once in a while, it's good to be a little daring. You know it, just admit it! Whether it's walking up to that new cutie in the office at the water-cooler, or ordering a crazy type of sushi instead of your usual boring (but tasty!) California Roll, or wearing that outfit you swore you could never pull off but now have the guts to flaunt...being a bit intrepid every now and again feels good. Builds character I'd say, you know? Well, I've got a few shoes that might challenge your bravery today, and I just dare you to give 'em a try.

The amazing Diane von Furstenberg's 'Luna' High Heel Strappy Sandals are soaring to new heights at 5-inches with a 1-inch covered platform! Wowza. A true 'force of fashion this season', these Grecian-inspired lovelies are all leather with a comfy & convenient elasticized slingback. The 'Luna'-loos come in a delightful bright gold......and also a classic black leather. Either can easily be paired up with your gorgeous red-carpet ready evening dress or that cute jean jumper you've been dying to bust out for the warmer months ahead.
Boutique 9 is a shoe brand that's quickly rising to the top of my favorites list right now. Check out these Boutique 9 'Ramiro' Platform Pumps (another all-leather comfy heel). Standing on a stacked wooden 5" heel you're going to see the world in a whole new stylish way! And check out that sexy zipper that runs curvy across your foot, adding just the right amount of understated detail to one greatly unique pump.
I told you so--here's another Boutique 9 heel that's drivin' me wild! The Boutique 9 'Val' ankle boot measures at 4 1/2" of heel, and 1" of platform, making this a daring (but stylishly attainable!) little bootie. I don't know about you, but these scream Rihanna to me (on one of her not-too-too-crazy days, that is)! They've got that hard attitude to them, but are offset with femininity by the chunky side bow.

Ok, and just to add a splish splash of color to this daredevil'd post, I've uncovered the Calvin Klein 'Remini' Peeptoe Sandals from their hiding place on Macys.com (also found at Zappos, 6pm, Bloomingdale's, and Dillard's in different colors/styles/prices). Triple multi-colored straps, sweet little back zipper, and elegantly covered platform make these over 5-incher sandals a simply gorgeous choice to throw on with the most basic of outfits that need a little kick or color.
So do yourself a favor and walk up to that hunky co-worker and strike up a convo, or order that menu item you've never had, or hey...even purchase a striking shoe that you never thought you'd buy! I dare you.

Lazy days

It's the end of the week, I'm slowly unpacking from my week-long vacation to my hometown and family, and utterly enjoying my last few days off. Not only have I managed to eat 3 large meals a day everyday this last week, but I also have developed a terrible addiction to words with friends on my iPhone. Help me! Ahhh, but it's days like this that I just wanna curl up with a good book + some of my favorite high heels for fashion inspiration... xoxo, holly in heels

Shoe closet love.

I will be the first to stand up and admit that I have a fabulous husband. Not only is he smart, funny, creative and patient, but he's pretty darned hot too! I still consider us newlyweds (and probably will for quite some time), because we're always doing thoroughly silly stuff for one another--keepin' things fresh, fun and surprising, ya know? Here's one of my fave pics of us, taken a few years ago during our engagement photoshoot. Good times. That being said, I was still simply breath-taken when I came home from a way-too-long day of work and found that my sweet beau had used his furlough day (yes, it's not just a vicious rumor that we have those all over the place in the state of CA) to transform our hall coat closet into none other than a shoe closet . You heard me right... shoe closet = every girl's dream, ya? We don't really use our hall coat closet anyway, living in such a warm southern California city, so I was thrilled to actually put this space to ...

One hot heel giveaway!

Well readers...it's your lucky stinkin' summer because I have yet another giveaway! This time we're givin' away HIGH HEELS! Yep, it's maybe my most favorite-est thing in the whole wide world, and KM2 shoes is making our high-heel dreams come true. I have to say these heels are fab-yoo-lus (especially since I recently welcomed KM2's gorgeous 'Kristin' heels into my own high heel collection!) . They are true to size, extremely comfy, and have that unique design that's truly eye-catching! You can purchase KM2 shoes online or in stores near you . I love the story of this company too -- three sisters founded KM2, Megan, Katelyn and Mattison Gelber, after growing up with two very fashion-forward parents. Their mid-western roots and life experiences in New York & Los Angeles have caused these ladies to develop a unique style, rooted in nostalgia, with an edgy flare! I asked them a few questions about to help us all get to know them better and loved...
