Oscar style!

I love Oscar time. There's just something about the Academy Awards that gets me all starstruck and excited! This year, my fashion-ready star-gazing happened from the comfort of my squishy suede couch in the heart of my comfy living room. My dates to this at-home Oscar party were Ben & Jerry (yep, a pint of Chunky Monkey always does the trick!) and some delish Mexican food. Obviously, I was thankful I didn't have to squeeze myself into a sparkly dress, but it was sure fun to watch 'em! Here are a few of my Holly in Heels faves...

Hailee Steinfeld no doubt gets some props for showin' off her kicks! It's rare that a red carpet star wears a dress that doesn't hit the floor, and I'm proud that this lil' 14 year old was showing off her satiny peep toe heels! Great dress, Hailee in heels!

Ever since her Dawson's Creek days, I've been adoring Michelle Williams and her very pixie-girl style. Her angelic look lit up the red carpet last night, and her dramatic makeup sealed the deal. You can see her metallic platforms shining through this gorgeous gown.

Scarlett Johansen simply can't do wrong in my book. She's curvy and stunning, and has that rebel girl look to her. I love that she went a bit off path here with this high neck plumb lace gown. Looks stunning with her smokey eye makeup and tousled locks. The question is: what shoes could she be wearing??

Melissa Leo, nominated for best supporting actress for "The Fighter," arrived to the Academy Awards in a gorgeous high-neck lace dress, with t-strap metallic sandal heels. What a great springtime look, Ms. Leo!

And finally, Australia-born star Nicole Kidman may not have my favorite dress of the night (surprisingly, because it was Dior couture), but I'm givin' mad props to her for her red shoe choice. What a striking dash of color on such a special award-winning night!

Happy post-Oscar day!

Cut it out

Feelin' those end-of-winter blues? It's time to cut it out with that, and cheer up--'cause I'm showin' off spring/summer cutout sandals from good ol' Piperlime.com! Great neutral wedge sandals & heels with that spin of texture that you're cravin'. Check 'em...

First up, these outstanding Messeca 'Colbee' wedges. A healthy 5-inch heel, and 100% leather make this beauty complete! Zip these suckers up the side, and leave the back cutout detail to do all of the talking. This is the ideal get-you-noticed spring wedge.

Up next, adore these Rosegold 'Cira' wedges with their 4 1/4" wedge heel and 1" platform for some extra-added height! Leather lining, synthetic outsole and 100% leather upper material, these = quality heels. I dig the brass buckle closure at the side, too. Great wedges to pair with skinny jeans, springtime white pencil skirt, even some stylish Bermuda shorts that you've been dying to break out!
Although they may not be in the budget, these Cynthia Vincent 'Jaden' sandals are sure worth a look (or two!). Another 4 1/4" wedge, with 3/4" platform gives these leather lovelies juuuuust the right amount of height without being too towering. I love the woven gold straps over the top of the sandal, that gives that leg-lengthening effect on any gal. And with Cynthia Vincent, you can never go wrong!
So pack up those winter blues and bring on spring!

Thursday d'Orsay

d'Orsay: do you know what it means? Nope, not the museum, but the d'Orsay pump is what's on my mind today. The d'Orsay definition is "a woman's shoe in which the vamp of the shoe is cut away very close to the toe box, and the sides are cut away, revealing the arch of the foot." Ya learn somethin' new every day, eh?

Well, I'm thinkin' that's most definitely inspired by the fact that I've found these Giambattista Valli Flower-Detail Ankle-Wrap d'Orsay. Long and lean and full of elegant detail. Suede with two-tone appliques on a peep-toe pump, and finished off with a sweet & delicate buckle. Perfection!
Do you d'Orsay?

Stripe it up!

Hello, post-Valentine's day friends! How'd you survive all of that lovey-love madness on Monday? Me and my hubs went old skool and did a fancy steak dinner, flowers, chocolates, the whole nine. I must say I enjoyed it quite a lot! And now that we're nearing the end of February, I'm squeeeekin' by winter and givin' you a sneak peek at what spring shoes have to hold. Sound scrumptious? I'll tell ya what's scrumptious: spring stripes. You thought the nautical bug had bitten last year...well, take a look at this season.

Let your jaw drop (as mine did) at the sight of these Brian Atwood patent-trim platform slingbacks. All of the right colors in all of the right spots--you get that classic navy & white stripe with a splash of bright coral patent leather. A thick and sturdy heel and platform to top it all off--could these be any more springtime perf?

And while you're at it, feast your eyes on these Prada Striped Canvas Mary Janes. Green and navy stripes give an understated spin to the classic Mary Jane. And heck, it's PRADA, so can't go wrong there!

Similar to the Prada Mary Jane is the brown & black Prada Striped Canvas Lace-Up. A nearly 5-inch covered canvas heel gives height AND style to any girl who steps foot in these suckers.

So stripe it up, ladies! You're worth it.

Be mine.

It's Valentine's Day! Did you know? I'm sure you do by now! If you haven't started munchin' on candy convo hearts yet, or chowin' down on chocolate, you're probably just waitin' til lunchtime, right? I know I've already dug into the goodies that my lovey-dove got me, yummers!

Allllmost as delicious as a box o' chocolates or a special steakhouse dinner (which the hubs and I are headed to tonight, I might add!), is a good pair of gorgeous red heels. Jimmy Choo has somehow charmed me this February 14th, and I had no choice but share it with you readers. My shoe-struck mouth is watering for these 'Quiet' peep-toe heels. Just the right amount of height + shine. Yow.

Or spice things up with the 'Renata' heel and get yourself noticed this V-day night! Jimmy Choo does it right with a 3" heel and a scrumptious patent red.

Don't ya just LOVE this time of year?

Put some spring in your step!

It's sort of a winter-ish, windy day outside my window, but nonetheless, I'm excited for SPRING! No doubt we'll be seeing a whole lotta coral colors, lace textures, and neutral-toned shoes. Here are a few lil' items that are makin' me stoked on spring.

The Hive & Honey Embroidered Sundress IS spring itself--radiant coral color and the embroidered detail are DELISH.

Tinley Road makes this great, dainty and sorta hippie-inspired 'Sarahh' sandal. An easy-to-manage 3-inch heel and the multiple-strap ankle details are makin' this kick so so special!
Elizabeth and James has done it again--check out the amazing olive color of this strappy thang: the 'Tari' sandal. A bit on the pricey side, but style just might be worth it!

Dear Mia Shoes: don't make me do it...you are tempting meeee! The Mia Limited Edition 'Seville' wedge sandal is the perfect spring-in-your-step shoe. Ready for a day at the mall, walkin' on that breezy boardwalk, or even headin' out for a night on the town--the khaki color of this fine shoe is all ready for you to pair with any outfit this season!

You stoked for spring like I am yet?
