A little WIN for your Friday!

It's Friday! WHO'S HAPPY?!!! I am, I am! It's actually been a spectacular week at work--and I've had plenty of good, relaxing evenings at home...so I ain't complainin', but a few days of sleeping in and lounging around sounds pretty darned good to me, not gunna lie.

I'm also super-duperliciously delighted to be announcing the winner of the Susan & Veronica Apron giveaway (winner selected using random.org)! And the lucky lady is (eh-chem...drum roll please): whitneyanddaniel! I'll be emailing ya with details on how we'll send your prize, but congrats, girly!

I seriously loved this giveaway--it combined two of my most favorite things: food + fashion. Heck, and if you're not the winner this time, I still would strongly encourage you to show your support for Susan & Veronica and the Young Survival Coalition, by purchasing one of their absolutely adorable Pink Ribbon Aprons (they'll even throw in FREE SHIPPING for ya!). Proceeds of these sales go to YSC, which is an international organization dedicated to working & caring for women age 40 & under, who've been diagnosed with breast cancer. Whew, what an issue and what a great cause! You might also know that October is breast cancer awareness month (some pretty fun campaigns goin' around right now to raise that awareness!), making it the perfect time to step up and buy one of these bad-boy aprons!

Thanks to all who entered this giveaway: you rule. Happy fab-Friday!

xoxo,

Long time, no type.

You guys. Has it seriously been a full YEAR since I've typed up a blog post on here? That is both depressing and encouraging. Depressing--because I feel like I have forgotten about my first "child" my Holly in Heels blog. Encouraging--because it means that I have been suuuper busy with other fun and creative projects, like my continued PR and media copywriting, contributions to Coyote + Oak magazine out of San Luis Obispo, as well as Locale Magazine 's newest San Francisco addition. I have to admit that while these other (paying) jobs keep me busy and on my toes, I do stop and think about my former life as a fashion and lifestyle blogger, and how I miss the creative outlet. To be able to write about whatever topic I choose is certainly a gift. Writing is also therapeutic for me--this blog is like a friend. Like the kind you can call up anytime, talk about the deep stuff and then mention this new conditioner you tried...and then switch back to the meaning of lif...

Shoe closet love.

I will be the first to stand up and admit that I have a fabulous husband. Not only is he smart, funny, creative and patient, but he's pretty darned hot too! I still consider us newlyweds (and probably will for quite some time), because we're always doing thoroughly silly stuff for one another--keepin' things fresh, fun and surprising, ya know? Here's one of my fave pics of us, taken a few years ago during our engagement photoshoot. Good times. That being said, I was still simply breath-taken when I came home from a way-too-long day of work and found that my sweet beau had used his furlough day (yes, it's not just a vicious rumor that we have those all over the place in the state of CA) to transform our hall coat closet into none other than a shoe closet . You heard me right... shoe closet = every girl's dream, ya? We don't really use our hall coat closet anyway, living in such a warm southern California city, so I was thrilled to actually put this space to ...

Celebratin' with a GIVEAWAY!

So, on the eve of 2011 something verrrrry exciting happened to Miss H in H (no, it's not baby news, mom, sorry!): I launched the brand spankin' new look of my blog ! Yep, it was pretty landmark-ish and something I had been lookin' forward to for a long, long time. And now that I've pretty much worked out all of the kinks and gotten it down to the way I want it, I feel like it's time to CELEBRATE! And what better way to do that than with a HIGH HEEL GIVEAWAY !? You heard right. High heel giveaway. You'rewelcomeverymuch. I'm so super excited to be givin' away a pair of heels from Jen + Kim for Coloriffics ! These girls have quite a story , which started when they became friends way back in 6th grade (how cute!). Having always been shoe-lovers and fellow fashionistas, Jen and Kim took their love for kicks & fashion and turned it into something big by pairing up with a shoe company called Coloriffics (makers of some of my favorite shoes-- like these love...
