Holly in Heels

Every girl loves shoes. That is pretty much a given, right? Ok, maybe I’m a tad bit biased, but aside from shoes, the other things that each and every girly girl loves is makeup! From the time we are wee ones, us gals somehow manage to dig in our mom’s make up cases and smear on that lipstick, and rose up our cheeks with some blush. And from then on, we are always on the hunt for the perfect cosmetics – the right tint or hue, the blush with the most natural look, just the right red for our lips, and the mascara that makes our lashes look most luscious. During my hunt for the perfect make up, my priorities have changed a bit, and over time it’s become increasingly important for me to have natural, healthy make up. It's official. I miss heels. I may get to wear spandex a whole lot, and tighter dresses than I've worn since my college days...and I do get the occasional "you're the cutest pregnant girl!" comment (which I do appreciate), but nothing compares to wearing heels. I miss standing in front of my shoe closet, looking for the perfect pair to my outfit. I miss the long look my legs used to have in a good pair of heels or wedges - the way it would finish an outfit and make me feel like a million bucks! Only a few more months of this...but in the meantime, excuse me while I drool over these 'Abby' wedge espadrilles with the clear heel, by French Connection . Love me some turquoise! The one thing I love about shoes is that there are so many different types of shoes. If it's heels, you've got stilettos, wedges, kitten heels, classic pumps, peep-toe heels, round and pointed toe--to name a few. When it comes to flats, you've got ballet flats, pointed-toes, peep-toes, trendy tennies...and my new fave: moccasins! Being 8 months pregnant (holluh!), I will confess that I'm turning to flats more and more these days. Don't worry, I'll get my heel action back on in no time, but in the meantime, I've discovered all kindsa cute flats. This week, I'm lovin' my moccasins from LAMO footwear! LAMO's 'Gabrielle' mocs are full suede material, fringed at the toe, and filled with a contrast color at the toe box. Love!
